"Small Injury" Rules Rasmus Hojlund Out of Action for "Two or Three Weeks"

Rasmus Hojlund looks set to miss at least three games for Manchester United due to a muscular injury.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form since Christmas, scoring in six consecutive Premier League games for United.

But he will be unavailable for Saturday's clash with Fulham at Old Trafford, as well as Wednesday's FA Cup game at Nottingham Forest and next weekend's Manchester derby against City.

Hojlund is also currently a doubt for the EPL home games against Everton and Sheffield United on March 9 and 16 respectively.

club statement issued on Friday afternoon read: "Rasmus Hojlund will miss Manchester United’s Premier League game against Fulham on Saturday due to a muscle injury.

"It is expected to keep him out for two to three weeks."

United manager Erik ten Hag was then asked about Hojlund's fitness later in the day.

Speaking at a press conference, Ten Hag said: "It's a small injury... two or three weeks.

"It happens. That is the risk of playing with high intensity. As I say, it's not a big injury but he has to wait."

Hojlund's injury is likely to result in Ten Hag playing Marcus Rashford in a more central role.

United have started with Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho playing either side of Hojlund in each of their last five EPL matches.

A win over Fulham on Saturday would see United move level on points with Tottenham in fifth place.
