Highlights: Watch Mykhailo Mudryk And Nicolas Jackson Score First Chelsea Goals In 4-3 Win Over Brighton
Mykhailo Mudryk and Nicolas Jackson scored their first goals for Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino's team kicked off the Premier League Summer Series by beating Brighton 4-3 in Philadelphia.
Danny Welbeck opened the scoring at Lincoln Financial Field before Christopher Nkunku equalized for the London side.
The score was 1-1 in the 60th minute when Brighton were reduced to 10 men after Jan Paul van Hecke was shown his second yellow card for an aggressive foul.
Mudryk scored his first Blues goal five minutes later via a superb volley from 20 yards after some slick build-up play with fellow substitute Jackson.
Another Jackson assist helped Conor Gallagher make it 3-1.
Jackson then got on the scoresheet himself thanks to a confident one-on-one finish following a Marc Cucurella through pass.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Brighton fought back with late strikes from summer signing Joao Pedro and Deniz Undav.
Next up for Chelsea is a game against Newcastle on Wednesday night, after Brighton take on Brentford.
Both of those matches will take place at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
