In this story:

CINCINNATI — Washington Post NFL reporter Jason La Canfora spoke with multiple executives this week about the Trey Hendrickson saga. The Bengals have reportedly been unwilling to part with Hendrickson for anything but top-tier draft capital.

It's irking the rest of the league.

“They’re being unreasonable,” An NFL executive said to La Canfora. Another executive said La Canfora: “If they can’t get him signed this week, I think he’s gone by the draft.”

Cincinnati and Hendrickson have traded words on the situation in the media this month and nothing has reportedly moved forward contract-wise for the lame-duck star. Hendrickson is entering the final year of his contract after posting 35 sacks over the past two seasons.

A trade is maximized best in the next 10 days. After that, any hope of dealing Hendrickson and getting major help this year in return diminishes greatly.

"The odds of him keeping all of these high-end players always seemed bleak," La Canfora said about Bengals owner Mike Brown. "If Hendrickson is still a Bengal after the draft, sitting on his existing deal, a lengthy holdout is probably in store."
