As new JMU head coach Bob Chesney settles in, it seems he's added another notable piece from the New England area for the 2024 season.

Veteran receiver Cam Ross from the University of Connecticut announced his commitment to the Dukes via his social media over the weekend. The 5'10" wideout from Delaware will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

In four seasons with the Huskies, Ross appeared in 28 games with 114 catches for 1356 yards with six touchdown catches. Ross was also occasionally used in the run game, with seven rush attempts for 36 yards.

Ross had his most productive seasons in 2019 and 2023. UConn did not play the 2020 season at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ross missed most of 2021 and 2022 with injuries.

In 2023, Ross averaged 12.6 yards per catch with two touchdowns in UConn's 3-9 campaign. He'll join a JMU team that suffered heavy transfer portal losses this offseason, but have won 11 games in 2023.
