Confirmed: Lionel Messi's Inter Miami WILL Play Against Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr In February

Al Nassr and Inter Miami will meet in Saudi Arabia on February 1 in what is likely to be the final on-pitch meeting between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The game will form part of the Riyadh Season Cup, which will begin with Miami playing against Al-Hilal on January 29.

Details of the event were widely circulated last month but Miami then issued a club statement denying that an agreement had been reached.

However, a club press release on Monday evening confirmed that what had previously been reported was indeed true.

It was headlined: "Inter Miami to Face Al-Hilal SFC and Al Nassr FC in preseason, Messi and Ronaldo to face off again".

The press release then read: "Inter Miami CF announced today that it will travel to Saudi Arabia during 2024 preseason to participate in the Riyadh Season Cup as part of the Club's first-ever international tour.

"The team will play two matches in the country in a round-robin tournament format, taking on Saudi powerhouses Al-Hilal SFC and Al Nassr FC."

As part of Miami's tour of Asia, Messi and Co will then take on a team made up of the best players from the Hong Kong First Division League on February 4.

But Miami's first friendly of the year is scheduled to take place in Central America where they will face the El Salvador national team on January 19.

Ronaldo, 38, and Messi, 36, have faced off against each other 36 times in competitive matches and have shared one of the most iconic rivalries in soccer history.

Their most recent meeting on the pitch came in January this year when Messi helped his former club Paris Saint-Germain to a 5-4 win over a Riyadh all-star XI featuring players from Al-Hilal and Al Nassr.

Ronaldo scored twice in that game.

Messi was offered the chance to move to Al-Hilal when his PSG contract expired last summer.

But he opted instead to move to Miami and went on to score 11 goals in his first 14 appearances for the Florida outfit.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has netted 40 times in his first 47 games for Al Nassr.
