The 43-year-old was surprised during free agency last offseason.

CINCINNATI — Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is flying high after winning his seventh Super Bowl title in February. The 43-year-old helped lead the Bucs to a championship in his first season with the team.

Brady signed with Tampa Bay in free agency last offseason. Other teams pursued him, but apparently one organization took their name out of the running toward the end of the process, which didn't sit well with the star quarterback.

"One of the teams, they weren't interested in the very end," Brady said on The Shop. "I was thinking, You're sticking with that motherf-----?"

Brady could've been talking about the 49ers, who he grew up rooting for. San Francisco was rumored to have some interest in the veteran, but ultimately stuck with Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Titans and Bears are two other teams that Brady might've been referring to on The Shop.

That conversation led to an interesting nugget from ESPN's Jeff Darlington.

“I think that people still underestimate how close Tom Brady was to signing with the New Orleans Saints up until he ultimately decided on the Bucs," Darlington said. "I know that that’s gonna be a statement that people try to question. It’s the truth."

Ultimately, Brady landed in Tampa Bay and the rest is history.
