Background:
Ahofitu Maka earned All-State Honorable Mention at Punahou High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Maka played Offensive Guard at Independence Community College in 2018 before transferring to the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2019. As a junior, Maka was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team after 11 starts in which he allowed just one sack and three quarterback hits in 430 passing snaps. After his senior season, Maka was named to the Academic All-America Football First Team by the College Sports Communicators.
