England Captain Harry Kane "Really, Really Tired" After Starting Every Spurs Game This Season

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte said Harry Kane was "really, really tired" after subbing him off in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Spurs exited the EFL Cup at the hands of the Premier League's bottom club despite naming a strong-looking XI.

Kane has now started all 21 of Tottenham's matches in all competitions this season, but he was withdrawn by Conte after 59 minutes at Forest.

Spurs have one game left to play - at home to Leeds on Saturday in the EPL - before the club season breaks for the World Cup.

There will be no break for England captain Kane though.

England will begin their Qatar 2022 campaign with a group game against Iran on November 21.

Kane is unlikely to be in peak physical condition during the tournament.

Speaking on Wednesday night, Conte told BBC Sport: "It was a problem of tiredness.

"It's only fatigue but it's normal because Harry played every game."

Conte added: "Yesterday we had a soft training session and at one point he stopped himself to recover energy."

If England go all the way to the World Cup final, their last match in Qatar will be on December 18.

The Premier League will resume on December 26.
