Gareth Southgate on List of Possible Replacements for Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag

Manchester United's new ownership group are reportedly considering England boss Gareth Southgate as a possible replacement for manager Erik ten Hag.

Billionaire Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS Group were recently put in charge of football operations at Old Trafford following an investment of around $1.5 billion.

Ten Hag is likely to remain as manager for the remainder of the 2023/24 season but it is widely believed that Ratcliffe and Co may opt to sack him in the summer.

According to ESPN, United's owners have not yet decided whether or not Ten Hag will be in charge next season but are nonetheless assessing alternative candidates for his position.

Southgate is said to be on United's shortlist, along with Brentford boss Thomas Frank and Brighton & Hove Albion's Roberto De Zerbi.
