Arsenal Pass 100-Goal Milestone As Bukayo Saka And Martin Odegaard Strike In Win Over Wolves

Arsenal beat Wolves 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Bukayo Saka fired the Gunners ahead with a low right-footed strike from inside a congested penalty area in the sixth minute.

Martin Odegaard then finished off a slick team move to double Arsenal's lead seven minutes later.

Matheus Cunha scored a fine consolation goal for Wolves after punishing an error by Oleksandr Zinchenko late in the second half. But the home side held on to record a fifth consecutive victory.

Saka's opener was Arsenal's 100th goal of 2023 in all competitions.

Odegaard's strike saw the Gunners become the fifth club from one of Europe's top five leagues to go beyond the 100-goal mark this calendar year.

Only Manchester City (137), Real Madrid (119), Bayern Munich (111) and Bayer Leverkusen (110) have been more prolific in front of goal than Mikel Arteta's side (101) in 2023.

Arsenal have now won five straight games against Wolves, who did the double over the North London outfit in the 2020/21 season.
