"It's Not A Goodbye": Harry Kane Hints At Future Return To Spurs In Video Message Posted From Munich

Tottenham Hotspur legend Harry Kane said farewell - but not goodbye - to the club in a video message posted on Saturday morning.

The video was uploaded to social media shortly before Kane was officially confirmed as Bayern Munich's new no.9.

Kane had been at Spurs since 2004 when he joined the club as an 11-year-old who had been released by London rivals Arsenal for being "too chubby".

He went on to score a record-breaking 280 goals for Tottenham, including 14 against Arsenal.

Harry Kane has scored more goals for Tottenham than any other player in the club's 140-year history

Kane said in the video: "Hi everyone, I wanted to be the first to tell you Tottenham fans that I will be leaving the club today.

"Obviously a lot of emotions going through me right now. Sad to be leaving the club I have spent nearly 20 years of my life at.

"From an 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man now, there's been so many great moments and special memories, memories that I'll cherish forever.

"This is a thank you to all my teammates over the years, all my coaches, all the managers, every single staff member to do with the club from the kitmen to the chefs, everyone involved.

"Obviously I have built special relationships with a lot of people and most importantly a thank you to you, the Tottenham fans.

"From the moment I've been playing I have been one of your own and have given everything that I possibly could to make you proud and give you as many special moments and memories to hopefully last forever.

"So I felt like this was the time to leave, I didn't want to go into the season with a lot of unresolved future talk. I think it's important for the new manager and players to concentrate on trying to get Tottenham back to around the top of the table and fighting for trophies."

He added: "I wish Ange [Postecoglou] and all the boys all the very best of luck, honestly I'll be watching as a fans' point of view now and really hope the team can be successful.

"This is a message to every single Tottenham fan around the world that supported me and has been supporting me throughout my journey, me and my family will cherish it forever, we'll never forget all the moments we've had together so thank you.

"I'll be watching this season, good luck to Tottenham, good luck to the whole club and, yeah, it's not a goodbye because you never know how things pan out in the future, but it's a thank you and I will see you soon."

Kane's transfer to Bayern made him the most expensive signing ever for a German club.

His transfer fee - reportedly £86 million, rising towards £100m with add-ons - also eclipsed the £85.3m Spurs received when they sold Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in 2013.
