On a rainy day in West Point, New York, Army played arguably their worst offensive game of the season. The Black Knights were shut out by the visiting Sun Belt Champions Troy. The Trojans will head back to Alabama with a 19-0 win. 

This marked the first time Army had been shutout at home since 2003. 

The Trojans improve to 5-2, their non-conference slate now complete for the 2023 season. Army will fall to 2-4 on the year.

Career Day For Troy's Scott Taylor Renfroe

Troy sophomore kicker Scott Taylor Renfroe played the best game of his budding college career on Saturday. Renfroe made four field goals, a career high, on five attempts, including a 43-yarder, a career-long. 

Two In A Row For Troy Over Army

Troy and Army faced off for the first time in 2022, which resulted in a 10-9 victory for the Trojans. The Trojans are now 2-0 against the Black Knights and have their first ever win at Army's Michie Stadium. 

This was Troy's first trip to the Northeast since 1994 when they beat UConn in that year's season opener.

New QB For Army

Army starting quarterback Bryson Daily exited the game with an injury in the first half and did not return. Freshman Champ Harris made his second appearance of the season, finishing with 6 completions on 13 attempts for 63 yards and an interception. Harris also carried the ball nine times for -17 yards and lost two fumbles.

Kimani Vidal: X Factor

Troy is now 10-1 when Kimani Vidal rushes for 100-plus yards. Vidal finished with 23 carries for 116 yards in this game. The Trojans continue their season on October 28 at Texas State.
