Look: NFL Insider Shares Trade Idea Involving Cincinnati Bengals Star Trey Hendrickson

Should the Bengals make this move?

In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals gave Trey Hendrickson permission to seek a trade last week. Should they be willing to send the NFL's sack leader to Indianapolis?

The Colts could be interested in Hendrickson and they do have the 45th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Would that be enough to land Hendrickson in a trade? Albert Breer threw out the idea in his latest column.

"This one makes some sense. The Indianapolis Colts have to win now," Breer wrote. "Their new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo came from Cincinnati. And they invested on the back end of the defense with Charvarius Ward and Cam Bynum coming in. Indy should think about sending pick No. 45 to the Bengals for Hendrickson, who would be an instant difference-maker for them."

The Bengals will naturally ask for the Colts first round pick (No. 14 overall), but if that doesn't get it done, maybe a combo of their second round pick (No. 45) and their fourth round pick (No. 117) would be enough to get the Bengals to accept a trade.

The Colts also have third (No. 80), fifth (No. 151), sixth (No. 189 and seventh round (No. 232) selections in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Would Indianapolis be willing to offer their second, fifth and seventh round picks for Hendrickson? Would the Bengals accept that deal?

These are all conversations that are likely being had behind closed doors.

Maybe the Colts would move down in the first round from No. 14 to No. 17, plus send the Bengals their second round pick (No. 45 overall).

That would be a tempting trade for Cincinnati—especially if they think a top prospect or two could fall out of the top 10 of this year's draft.

Being 14th instead of 17th could make a big difference. Check out Breer's entire column here.
