Browns Rookie CB Martin Emerson Jr. Appears in Top-25 Cornerback List
It was perhaps a questionable pick for the Cleveland Browns who had other glaring holes but now looks like an absolute steal. Rookie cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. is starting to get some more attention around the league, as well as from other media outlets. PFF’s Marcus Mosher placed Emerson in his top-25 cornerback list for the entire NFL.
Emerson comes in at 25th on the list. The rookie has a 76.2 coverage grade, which is the 16th-best in the entire NFL. Due to injuries, Emerson has been heavily relied on to perform on the outside, he’s looked the part. The length and physicality of Emerson always looked like it was going to translate well, it has.
Cleveland has multiple starter-level cornerbacks and Emerson has stood out as the best this year. He is living well above his draft stock and should make the future at the position interesting for the Browns.
This list includes Patrick Surtain as the top cornerback with star rookie Sauce Garder at the second spot.
