Norwich City Video About Mental Health Praised By UEFA

UEFA praised Norwich City after the EFL Championship club created an "incredibly powerful" video to mark World Mental Health Day.

Norwich produced a 147-second short film about suicide prevention. It centered on two male football fans watching their beloved team over the course of a season, but by the end of the video one of the men was absent.

The video aimed to highlight the often hidden signs of mental health conditions, before encouraging viewers to "check in on those around you".

Norwich posted the video via the club's official social media channels on Tuesday.

Alongside the footage read the caption: "At times, it can be obvious when someone is struggling to cope, but sometimes the signs are harder to spot."

UEFA replied via X, formerly known as Twitter, by writing: "This is incredibly powerful, well done Norwich City".

Two days earlier, Norwich had replaced the logo of shirt sponsor Lotus with that of suicide prevention charity Samaritans for a game against Coventry City.

Norwich said in a club statement: "Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide.

"They respond to a call for help every 10 seconds, day and night, for those struggling to cope, making sure people have somewhere to turn and support when they need it most."
