Duke Tobin Sends Message to Rest of NFL After Bengals Sign Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to Contract Extensions

In this story:
CINCINNATI — Bengals Director of Player Personnel seems fired up to retain Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins throughout most of this decade. He delivered a strong statement to the rest of the league on the signings in a press release that harkened back to 2023 NFL Combine memories.
“The Bengals have a long history of drafting and retaining elite wide receivers, and we’re happy to continue that tradition with Ja’Marr and Tee," Tobin noted the team's wide receivers. "We are known for our explosive, high-scoring offense and Ja’Marr and Tee are a big part of that identity. They earned these extensions with their abilities and promise for the future. We have our receivers. The rest of the league can go find their own.”
The players each tacked on four more years with Cincinnati on $115-plus million deals each. It reportedly includes language that extends guaranteed money into multiple seasons, a rarity for the Bengals outside of the quarterback position. A combined 80 career touchdowns so far will spark that urgency.
Cincinnati did what it had to do to keep elite talents on the field for Joe Burrow and the whole team to thrive. Tobin accordingly sounded happy about the offensive pillars sticking around.
