Calgary Stampeders Lock Up Offensive Lineman on Two-Year Contract

A key member of the offensive line for the Calgary Stampeders is returning as offensive tackle Joshua Coker signed a two-year contract with the team.

The Calgary Stampeders are looking to keep their offensive line intact in 2024 and took a step in that direction on Wednesday.

Offensive tackle Joshua Coker and the Stampeders agreed to a two-year contract that will keep him on the roster through the 2025 season. The team made the announcement on X.

Coker played college football at Rhodes College where he appeared in 24 games. In each of his final two seasons with the Lynx, he earned American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches’ All-American honors and first-team All-Southern Athletic Association.

He would go undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft but was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent.

Calgary signed Coker in 2020, and he was on the practice roster in 2021. He made his CFL debut in 2022, starting two games at right tackle.

Coker’s biggest output as a CFL player came in 2023, when he played in 12 games and started 11 of them. As Calgary's right tackle, he and the rest of the offensive line allowed just 24 sacks on the season, good for the third-fewest in the league.

The Stampeders finished with a 6-12 record, losing in the West Semi-Final. They went into the offseason with 37 pending free agents.
