The UMass Minutemen have had something of a productive offseason in the transfer portal. Don Brown's team added to their defensive depth this week, securing a commitment from one of the Ivy League's top linebackers.

Dartmouth's Macklin Ayers announced his intention to spend 2024 in Amherst via his social media on Friday afternoon.

A team captain, he spent last four seasons with the Big Green. Ayers was Dartmouth's leading tackler in 2023 with 79 total. He had three TFLs and a sack with an interception, three pass breakups, and six QB hurries.

Ayers finished each of the last two seasons with one of the top five tackle counts in the Ivy League. The Elizabethville, Pennsylvania native was a zero-star prospect coming out of high school.

He will have one season of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.
