BC Lions Add Three Americans, Including Former LSU Offensive Lineman
As the CFL offseason rolls along, teams continue to find talent to bring in before training camp. The BC Lions added three more American players to the roster since Friday by signing defensive back Jordan Perryman, offensive lineman Maea Teuhema and defensive back Alonzo Davis.
Perryman joins the Lions after spending last year in training camp with the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL, but ultimately was released on an injury settlement. He started his college career with UC Davis, racking up 140 tackles, 23 pass deflections, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 42 games. After transferring to Washington for his senior year in 2022, he made 37 tackles and one pass deflection in 10 games.
Teuhema and BC defensive lineman Sione Teuhema are brothers. Maea Teuhema was in the XFL last year with the Arlington Renegades and San Antonio Brahmas. He made multiple stops in the United States with the several spring football leagues, including the Alliance of American Football, XFL and USFL between 2019-22. Teuhema attended rookie mini-camp with the New Orleans Saints in 2018.
Teuhema found success at LSU, playing 24 games for the Tigers in 2015 and 2016. He helped pave the way for one of the top running backs in the country in Leonard Fournette. In 2017, he transferred to Southeastern Louisiana in his senior year.
Davis was in rookie mini-camp with the Tennessee Titans last year. At Northern Arizona in 2022, he produced 32 tackles, 11 pass deflections and two interceptions in 11 games.
This is the latest of moves by BC to build depth to the roster including the team signing two quarterbacks, wide receiver Jake Harty, defensive lineman Pete Robertson and defensive back Ciante Evans.
