Winnipeg Blue Bombers Sign Record-Breaking Ohio State Receiver

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers get some help offensively with the addition of Ohio State all-time receptions leader K.J. Hill.

The feeling with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers is the more weapons they can add for quarterback Zach Collaros, the better they will be. Winnipeg brought in some reinforcements on offense by signing wide receiver K.J. Hill on Monday.

Hill last stepped on the field for the Los Angeles Chargers after being a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. In two seasons, he caught 10 passes for 103 yards. He also returned 18 punts for 124 yards and four kickoffs for 57 yards in 21 games.

At Ohio State, Hill produced one of the best careers of any wide receiver that played for the Buckeyes. He finished as the program’s all-time leader in receptions with 183 in 42 games. Hill also had 2,070 yards and 19 touchdowns in three seasons. The most yards he had in a season was in 2018 with 885 and the most touchdowns he scored was in 2019 with 10.

Winnipeg has one of the largest wide receiver rooms going into CFL training camp with 17. Dalton Schoen and Kenny Lawler headline a very deep position group.

Hill’s experience on special teams as a returner will be one of the keys to making the team.

The Bombers open the season on June 6 as they host the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes.
