Premier League Injury Table: Liverpool Up To Fifth After Joel Matip Blow, West Ham 20th

Joel Matip may have played his final game for Liverpool.

It was confirmed by the club this week that the defender - whose contract is due to expire in June 2024 - had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during Liverpool's 4-3 win over Fulham on Sunday.

Matip is now the seventh Liverpool player currently working to overcome an injury, according to www.premierinjuries.com.

Thiago Alcantara, Andrew Robertson, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Stefan Bajcetic and Alexis Mac Allister are also on the Reds injury list.

However, Mac Allister may recover in time to feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

There are currently seven first-team Liverpool players ruled out with injuries after Joel Matip damaged his ACL during a 4-3 win over Fulham last week

But Liverpool are not the only Premier League side struggling with multiple injury issues right now.

Indeed, there are four clubs with more injured players than Liverpool.

Newcastle are currently missing 11 players - Nick Pope, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn, Callum Wilson, Elliot Anderson, Sean Longstaff, Sven Botman, Joseph Willock, Harvey Barnes, Javier Manquillo and Matt Targett.

Meanwhile, Tottenham reportedly have nine injured players - Ivan Perisic, Rodrigo Bentancur, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, Eric Dier, Pape Sarr and Alfie Malik Whiteman.

Chelsea and Brentford each have eight players on their injury lists.

At the other end of the Premier League injury table are West Ham, who currently have just one first-team player, Michail Antonio, missing through injury.

Manchester City are only without two injured players.
