Bengals Acquire Veteran Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III on Waivers
CINCINNATI — The Bengals claimed veteran cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III according to Thursday's transaction report.
The Texans released him on Wednesday and Cincinnati acquired him on waivers.
Tampa Bay picked Hargreaves with the 11th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent three years with the Buccaneers.He's appeared in 65 games and made 57 starts.
Hargreaves has 18 tackles, three passes defensed and one interception in eight games this season.
Hargreaves might be able to contribute sooner, rather than later with Trae Waynes on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old joins a cornerback room that includes Chidobe Awuzie, Eli Apple, Mike Hilton, Tre Flowers and Darius Phillips.
