Chelsea Win Women's Super League Title For Fourth Season In A Row After Pipping Man United On Final Day

Chelsea were crowned Women's Super League champions for the fourth season in a row on Saturday.

The Blues had begun the final day of the season two points ahead of title rivals Manchester United.

Emma Hayes therefore knew that her side simply needed to win at Reading to be sure of retaining their trophy.

Guro Reiten set up Sam Kerr to fire Chelsea ahead in the 18th minute before the Norwegian winger scored herself to make it 2-0 just before half-time.

Kerr then scored again on 88 minutes to wrap up a 3-0 victory at the Madejski Stadium.

The result left Reading bottom of the table, relegating them to the Women's Championship.

Elsewhere on Saturday, United beat Liverpool 1-0 at Prenton Park but that result had no impact on the final standings.

United finished second to record their highest finish in WSL history, while Liverpool ended the campaign in seventh place.
