UEFA Confirms UK And Ireland As Euro 2028 Hosts

The 18th edition of the men's UEFA European Championship will be hosted by the United Kingdom and Ireland.

UEFA confirmed on Tuesday morning that a joint proposal by England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland had been officially selected as the winning bid for Euro 2028.

The UK and Irish bid eventually ran unopposed after Turkey withdrew from the process to focus instead on a joint bid with Italy to host Euro 2032.

That bid was also announced as a success on Tuesday, with UEFA revealing that Euro 2032 will have 10 host venues - five in Turkey and five in Italy.

Euro 2028 will take place across June and July and feature games in nine cities.

Cardiff is expected to host the opening match of the tournament.

Matches will also be held in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin.

The Euro 2028 final is set to take place at London's Wembley Stadium, which also hosted the final of Euro 2020 - a tournament that featured matches in 11 different countries.
