Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 40, Shows Off Superhuman Strength As He Eyes Another AC Milan Contract

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tried to tell us many times that he is not human.

He has referred to himself as "God", "a Ferrari" and "a lion" among other things.

Ibrahimovic uploaded a workout video to Instagram on Monday and in it he certainly did not look like a regular human, let alone a 40-year-old.

The video, which was liked almost 9,000,000 times within its first eight hours of being posted, shows Ibrahimovic with his legs wrapped around a punch bag as he performs sit-ups.

He captioned the footage with the word: "Patience".

That was probably a reference to him currently being out of action with an Achilles tendon injury picked up against Juventus in January.

AC Milan's official Instagram account replied with three bicep emojis, which was the top comment on the post.

But in addition to polite blue-tick verified interactions between club and player on social media, there are set to be some serious conversations in the coming weeks.

Ibrahimovic is due to be out of contract in the summer but he wants to extend his current deal, according to Milan technical director Paolo Maldini.

“Zlatan knows what he wants, he doesn't fake anything, he knows what the possible agreement with Milan could be," Maldini told DAZN, as reported by The Athletic.

"If he doesn't feel like continuing he'll be the first to say so.

"His idea is to continue. Zlatan will never be a burden on this team, but only a resource."

Ibrahimovic has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 908 Serie A minutes this season.

After winning against rivals Inter in Ibrahimovic's absence over the weekend, Milan are just one point off the top of the Serie A table.

Leaders Inter have a game in hand, but Milan have a lion with a point to prove.
