Jadon Sancho ‘will not’ be available for Borussia Dortmund’s game against Manchester City on 6th April, after losing his race to be fit in-time for the first-leg of the Champions League Quarter-Final at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Manchester City Academy youngster who had an explosive start to his Borussia Dortmund career after moving to Germany has become an important member of Dortmund’s attack.
Sancho has been out of action since the start of March with a muscle injury and has travelled to Dubai to consult a specialist and expedite the rehabilitation process in warm weather conditions.
Speaking to the press in his pre-match conference, Borussia Dortmund Manager Edin Terzic confirmed on Thursday that Jadon Sancho will not be fit in time for next week’s highly awaited clash against Manchester City.
“With Jadon, we hope that the situation with him will change in the next seven to ten days,” Terzic said.
According to German outlet Ruhr Nachrichten, Sancho will be back in Dortmund this week after working on his recovery process in Dubai.
But the earliest return date for the English winger would be the second-leg of Dortmund’s Champions League tie against Manchester City on April 14.
Rest assured this is a big blow for the Black and Yellow’s heading into a tough away fixture against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
