Prince Harry Supports Arsenal And LeBron James Loves Liverpool But Which EPL Club Has The Biggest Celebrity Fanbase?

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world.

It is still considered by many to be the game of the working classes but it is also widely loved by the rich and the famous.

Many teams in England's Premier League have some big-name celebrities among their fans.

But which EPL team has the most star-studded celebrity fanbase?

5. Chelsea

Former US president Bill Clinton frequently went to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea while studying at Oxford University in the 1960s.

He hasn't been back much since though.

But Chelsea still have some famous fans from the States, including comedian Will Ferrell and rapper Lil Wayne.

Famous chef Gordon Ramsay and actor Sir Michael Caine are Blues fans too.

Phil Collins is another musical member of the club's fanbase.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling is a Tottenham fan too, although admittedly not a die-hard supporter.

Rowling once said: "I'm not a very passionate supporter and I certainly don't get very depressed if they're not doing very well but if I was to turn up to watch anyone it would be Spurs"

Tottenham's most famous American supporters include Zac Efron, Steve Nash and Adam Richman.

3. Arsenal

Celebrity Arsenal Fans

Piers Morgan is probably Arsenal's most vocal celebrity fan on social media.

But Arsenal's most famous fan is a man who has face persistent criticism from Morgan on Twitter.

Prince Harry came out as a Gooner in 2017 shortly after Arsenal had been beaten 5-1 at home by Bayern Munich.

The royal was asked by young sports coach Jack Gair who he supported. "Arsenal," replied the prince, before adding: "I know. Let's not talk about it."

Actors Matt Damon, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner and Daniel Kaluuya are also known Arsenal fans, while rap king Jay-Z has been spotted at several Gunners games over the years.

2. Liverpool

Celebrity Liverpool Fans

NBA icon LeBron James is arguably the most high-profile Liverpool fan of them all.

James even became a minority shareholder in the club in 2011, before exchanging his stake for shares in Fenway Sports Group last year.

Many movies stars are big Liverpool fans too, including Liam Neeson, Mike Myers, Daniel Craig and Samuel L Jackson.

Brad Pitt is also a Reds fan on the down low, having once said: "I have some friends who are very close to Liverpool, so if I went another way I might be disowned."

Other celebrity Liverpool fans include Millie Bobby Brown, Kim Cattrall and Dr Dre.

Celebrity Manchester United Fans

The fastest man of all time, Usain Bolt, is one of Manchester United's most well-known followers but the list is long.

Justin Timberlake has been spotted at Old Trafford too, while boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and golf icon Rory McIlroy are also Red Devils supporters.

WWE superstar Rey Mysterio met the squad of his beloved United in 2018, while rapper Stormzy has also visited the team during a training session.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet last year that he wanted to buy United. Although he later admitted this was a joke, Musk did confirm that he had supported the club since he was a child.

Conor McGregor, Miley Cyrus and Julia Roberts follow the Red Devils too.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola recently joked about his disappointment that Roberts supported United, rather that his team.

Guardiola said during a press conference in March: "If I win the Champions League three times in a row I will be a failure. I have three idols in my life - Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Julia Roberts. These are my three idols.

"Julia Roberts years ago came to Manchester - not in the 90s when Sir Alex [Ferguson] was winning titles and titles and titles. She came in the period where we were better than United, in these four or five years, right?

"And she went to visit Man United. She didn't come to see us. That's why even if I win the Champions League it will not compare for the fact that Julia Roberts came to Manchester and didn't come to see us."
