Man United Captain Bruno Fernandes Suspended For Liverpool Game After Yellow Card In Home Defeat By Bournemouth

Manchester United will be unable to call on captain Bruno Fernandes against Liverpool next weekend.

The Red Devils skipper will serve a one-game suspension at Anfield after receiving his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season during Saturday's 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth.

Fernandes was booked in the 84th minute at Old Trafford for a foul on Bournemouth defender Adam Smith.

This came after goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi had stunned the home crowd.

Erik ten Hag's side will go to Anfield as heavy underdogs next Sunday.

United lost 7-0 at Liverpool last season.

That followed a 4-0 defeat at Anfield in the 2021/22 campaign.

United have only scored one goal in their last eight away games against Liverpool.
