Watch Dominik Szoboszlai Score First Goal Of Liverpool Career With Sweet Strike In Win Over Aston Villa

Summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai scored the first goal of his Liverpool career during Sunday's 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Szoboszlai fired the Reds 1-0 up just 163 seconds into the game with a sweet left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area.

The goal came from an outswinging Trent Alexander-Arnold corner kick that evaded several players inside the 18-yard box before the ball bounced into the path of Szoboszlai.

The Hungary midfielder - who scored 20 goals in 91 appearances for RB Leipzig before moving to Liverpool for a transfer fee of £60 million in July - did well to control his shot, which arrowed into the net before keeper Emiliano Martinez had time to move.

Liverpool went 2-0 up in the 22nd minute when Matty Cash inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net after Darwin Nunez had hit the post from close range.

Nunez then assisted Liverpool's third goal 10 minutes into the second half when he flicked an Andy Robertson corner on for Mo Salah to score his second goal of the season.

Liverpool's win took Jurgen Klopp's side up to fourth in the EPL table, with 10 points from their first four games of the season.

Szobozslai spoke to BBC Sport after Sunday's match. Recalling his goal, he said: "It is a special moment.

"If you score your first goal for Liverpool at Anfield it is always special. I am looking forward to getting even more.

"To be honest we practice in training these [set-piece] situations and I think after the first game I shoot 50 meters over the goal so I was concentrating even more. It is also a bit of luck but I just try my best."
