Amad Diallo Scores Extra-Time Winner Against Liverpool As Manchester United Edge Seven-Goal Epic to Reach FA Cup Semi-Finals

Amad Diallo scored the winning goal in the last minute of extra time as Manchester United beat Liverpool 4-3 in an epic FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was then sent off after being shown a second yellow card for his shirtless celebration.

Amad walked down the tunnel but he was back on the field following the final whistle to continue celebrating moments later.

This was only the second goal of Amad's United career. His first came back in 2021 against AC Milan in the Europa League.

United will now face Coventry City in the semi-finals

Former heavyweight boxing world champion Tyson Fury was among the crowd at Old Trafford to see United knock Liverpool out.

United fan Fury said in a pre-match interview with ITV Sport that United should "just go out there and attack".

That approach proved successful early on as Scott McTominay fired United into a 10th-minute lead when he volleyed home from close range after Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher had parried an initial effort from Alejandro Garnacho.

But Liverpool hit back and led 2-1 by half-time thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool squandered multiple chances to put the game to bed in the second half, including one from a five-on-two counter-attack.

Those misses allowed United to stay in the game and eventually equalize in the 87th minute when substitute Antony scored his second goal of the season.

Marcus Rashford then missed a golden chance to win the tie for United with the last kick of normal time.

Rashford failed to find the net from another one-on-one opportunity in the first half of extra time, although his blushes were spared by the offside flag.

Liverpool retook the lead moments later when Harvey Elliott beat Andre Onana from 25 yards via a deflection off Christian Eriksen.

But Rashford finally hit the target seven minutes into the second period of extra time with a clean low finish after being set up by McTominay.

A penalty shootout appeared to be on the horizon until Amad brilliantly finished off a last-gasp breakaway attack following good work by Garnacho.
