Saskatchewan Roughriders Sign Four Americans, One Canadian

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are bringing on four American wide receivers and one Canadian linebacker to the roster.

With a new head coach comes the additions of players as the Saskatchewan Roughriders start to build their roster.

The team announced the following signings of four American wide receivers and one Canadian linebacker to the roster:

  • Kalija Lipscomb, WR
  • Dohnte Meyers, WR
  • Jake Parker, WR
  • Kendall Watson, WR
  • Jaxson Ciraolo-Brown, LB

Lipscomb played 45 games with Vanderbilt, catching 198 passes for 2,356 yards and 22 touchdowns. He went undrafted in the NFL in 2020, spending time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans. Earlier in the year, Lipscomb attended training camp with the Riders.

Meyers attended Presbyterian College for two seasons, recording 54 receptions for 671 yards and seven touchdowns. He would transfer to Delta State playing there in 2021 and 2022 finishing his career with a first-team All-Gulf South Conference honors. His most recent stop was attending rookie camp with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year.

Parker played three seasons at Howard Payne. He played in 25 games, recording 123 catches for 2,282 yards and 21 touchdowns. Saskatchewan had him in training camp earlier this year.

Watson is returning to the Riders after playing for the team in 2023. He played in four games recording 17 receptions for 154 yards and caught a two-point conversion. Watson was a member of Samford University prior to going pro.

Ciraolo-Brown played at the University of British Columbia, where he played in 26 games. He finished with 161 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions, four pass deflections and one forced fumble. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted him in the eighth round of the 2022 CFL Draft and he went to training camp with the team.

After finishing the season with a 6-12 record, the Roughriders hired Corey Mace to be their new coach. The team has 30 pending free agents entering the offseason.
