Thomas Tuchel Enjoying Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Therapy Retreat After Chelsea Departure

Thomas Tuchel has been to India for Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapy after being fired by Chelsea.

The German was dismissed by Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly in September following his 100th game as the club's manager.

It came as a disappointing blow to Tuchel, who had delivered Champions League and Club World Cup glory during his 589 days as Blues boss.

"I loved every day at Chelsea," Tuchel told SPORTSTAR during his trip to India.

"It came to an end too early for me, but it was out of my hands. This is also what you sign up for."

Reflecting on Chelsea's Champions League triumph in 2021, he recalled: "It was of such a level that you never expect to win it.

"We played the role of an underdog. When I joined the club was placed ninth in the [Premier] League, so even qualifying for the Champions League was an achievement.

"There were many games that I was really happy with – the ones against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Porto and the final."

Tuchel's last game as Chelsea manager also came in the Champions League. He was fired a day after Chelsea lost 1-0 at Dinamo Zagreb in this season's group stage.

That will certainly not be his final game in soccer management.

Tuchel, 49, has already received multiple job offers but he is in no rush to make his next move.

He explained: "I haven't made a decision yet. It is now time for me to take a break.

"Some clubs have been calling my manager but we agreed that he would not call me here for these past 18 days."

Those 18 days had been spent at the Sitaram Beach Retreat in India.

"I was curious," he said when asked about his decision to come to India in the name of Ayurveda. "One of my assistant coaches was here six years ago.

"He told me good things about this place. I have always been aware of the principles of Ayurveda.

"After a long period of coaching, there was a possibility of taking a break for me, so I came here. The experience has been fantastic. I feel energized and calm.

"I would recommend this to everybody who wants to discipline the body and the mind."
