Brighton 6-0 Wolves

Brighton & Hove Albion boosted their hopes of qualifying for Europe by battering Wolves on Saturday.

Deniz Undav started the rout in the sixth minute by scoring his first ever Premier League goal.

Pascal Gross then netted twice, aided by two assists from Julio Enciso, before Danny Welbeck made it 4-0 before half-time.

Welbeck found the net again early in the second half as Brighton reached the five-goal mark in a game for the fourth time this season.

Brighton had never previous scored six goals in an EPL match but Undav scored again in the 66th minute to change that.

Saturday's dominant victory saw Brighton set a new club record for most points earned in a top-flight season.

Brighton now have 52 points from 31 games. Their previous best tally was set last season when they finished with 51 points.

With seven games still to play, Brighton will be expected to significantly increase their current points tally before this season is over.

The Seagulls will be hoping to finish higher than their current position of eighth too.

Tottenham and Aston Villa, who occupy fifth and sixth place respectively, currently each have 54 points from 33 matches.

Some of Brighton's goals against Wolves were simply brilliant to watch.

Undav was set up by a cheeky backheeled pass from Welbeck for the opener.

Gross completed a flowing team move for his first goal before nailing a superb 20-yard volley for his second.

Welbeck's first goal was a simple but well-executed header after a deep cross from Pervis Estupinan. His second came from a sweet left-footed strike from outside of the penalty area.

The sixth goal of the day was the result of some determined pressing by Brighton. Undav and Kaoru Mitoma combined to dispossess a Wolves defender on the edge of his own box. Undav, full of confidence after his earlier goal, then produced a fine chip to beat keeper Jose Sa.

Saturday's 6-0 win was Brighton's biggest margin of victory in the Premier League ever.
