CFL Releases Offseason Dates for Combine, 2024 CFL Draft

The CFL announced Wednesday the offseason schedule that includes the dates for the combine and the 2024 CFL Draft.

Fans will now have a better idea of what the offseason will look like for the CFL after the league shared the full schedule Wednesday, including key dates for the CFL Combine and the CFL Draft.

The communication window for free agency will take place from Feb. 4-11, during which teams will be able to openly speak to free agents. Pending free agents won’t be able to officially sign with a CFL team until Feb. 13, however.

March 8 will kick off the first combine for the league with the CFL Invitational Combine at the University of Waterloo. The CFL Combine will be taking place from March 19-24, as players will participate in multiple sessions including medical testing, on-field testing, individual workouts and one-on-ones.

The CFL Draft will occur on April 30, starting with the CFL Global Draft at 11 a.m. EST and concluding with the CFL Draft at 8 p.m. EST.

Rookie camp begins on May 8, and by May 11, CFL teams will need to reduce their rosters to 85 players. Training camp officially begins on May 12. Rosters will once again be reduced to 75 players on May 14. Three weeks of preseason will close out the month, with June 1 as the last day of training camp.

The regular season officially begins on June 6 with a showdown between the Montreal Alouettes and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in a 2023 Grey Cup rematch.
