Saskatchewan Roughriders Sign Linebacker, Lineman

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added linebacker CJ Reavis and offensive lineman Noah Zerr to the roster.

Saskatchewan Roughriders coach Corey Mace and his staff continue to build for the 2024 season. The team announced over the weekend that the team has re-signed linebacker CJ Reavis and signed offensive lineman Noah Zerr.

Reavis is being brought back on a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Saskatchewan through the 2025 season. The versatile linebacker and safety posted his best season since joining the CFL in 2022. He recorded 59 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception in 17 games.

The Roughriders signed him in 2022, with Reavis playing in four games and recording four special teams tackles. His season was cut short with an Achilles injury.

His NFL experience includes time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons. He did record one tackle with the Jaguars in 2018.

Zerr played with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last season, dressing for three games. He was a previous pick of the BC Lions in the 2022 CFL Draft, taken in the second round. The Lions had him play in four games in 2022.

He’s a former U Sports First Team All-Canadian at the University of Saskatchewan. In five seasons, Zerr played in 41 games at left tackle from 2016-21.

The team also announced extensions for the football operations staff, as well as adding offensive lineman Jacob Brammer and wide receiver O’Joshua Bunton.
