Drake Loses $600,000 Bet As Real Madrid Beat Barcelona In El Clasico
Real Madrid 3-1 Barcelona
Real Madrid extended their unbeaten run to 18 games by beating rivals Barcelona in Sunday's Clasico at the Bernabeu.
Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde fired Real into a 2-0 first-half lead.
Ferran Torres pulled a goal back on 83 minutes before Rodrygo won and converted a penalty kick in added time to seal Real's win.
The result saw Real replace Barca at the top of La Liga, opening up a three-point gap between the fierce rivals.
But it could have been so different had Barca taken their chances. Xavi's side edged the game in terms of possession (57%) and xG (Real 1.44-2.27 Barca) but were inferior when it came to finishing.
Robert Lewandowski produced the miss of the match in the 25th minute when the score was 1-0 to Real. Sliding in at the far post, Lewandowski lifted his shot over an open goal.
Drake Loses Big On Barca
Barcelona's players wore special jerseys during Sunday's game to celebrate Drake becoming the first artist to hit 50 billion streams on Spotify.
But Drake was probably not celebrating Sunday's result as it saw him lose a small fortune.
The Canadian rapper had bet CA$833,333.85 ($600,000) on Arsenal to beat Leeds and Barca to beat Real.
Arsenal won 1-0 at Leeds, meaning a Barca victory would have been worth a return of CA$3.9m ($2.82m), but the result at the Bernabeu saw Drake's double pay zero.
