Gareth Bale Tells Lionel Messi To Expect "Chilled" Culture In MLS: "They Accept Losing A Lot Better"

Former Major League Soccer star Gareth Bale has told Lionel Messi that he will be stepping into a much more relaxed world when he moves to the USA.

Messi has agreed a summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Miami.

Inter Miami currently sit dead last in the Eastern Conference, after losing 12 of 17 MLS games this season.

But Bale believes that Messi will find that losing matches in MLS is very different to suffering a defeat in Europe with the likes of PSG or former club Barcelona.

Bale, who played for Real Madrid in Spain and LAFC in the States, told BT Sport: "It is a lot more chilled.

"If you lose at Real Madrid, it is like the world has ended. You are crucified. You feel down. You go home and you're not happy."

On life in MLS, Bale added: "They accept losing a bit more. There is no consequence. You can't get relegated. When you lose a game you go on to the next one. They accept losing a lot better over there.

"They know how to lose but every win they celebrate like they've won the championship, so he'll definitely enjoy it."

Bale scored three goals in 13 games for LAFC in 2022, including a dramatic equalizer to help his team win the MLS Cup.

Messi is expected to join Miami next month, with his debut likely to come in a Leagues Cup fixture against Mexican side Cruz Azul on July 21.
