Saskatchewan Roughriders Sign Three American Linemen

The Saskatchewan Roughriders made a series of signings Monday to upgrade their offensive and defensive lines by adding three Americans with extensive college experience.

Teams know the importance of having strong offensive and defensive lines. The Saskatchewan Roughriders put that practice to good use, signing three to add to the trenches Monday afternoon.

That trio is defensive lineman Caleb Sanders, and offensive linemen Trevor Reid and Jordan Tucker.

After a successful college career at South Dakota State, Sanders started with a rookie minicamp visit with the New York Giants and training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in one preseason game for the Eagles, recording three tackles.

Just a short time after being released by the Eagles, Sanders signed with the Riders in September. He played in one game, totaling two tackles.

Reid played college at Louisville for three seasons before signing with the Eagles right after the draft this year. He joined Philadelphia for minicamp, but would attend training camp with the Atlanta Falcons shortly afterward.

Tucker attended North Carolina for four seasons, starting in 35 games for the Tar Heels. He went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tucker was a participant at the Steelers training camp, but ultimately did not make the team.

The Riders came calling afterward as Tucker went to training camp and spent part of the 2023 season with them. He did not record any stats on the year for Saskatchewan.

The Riders were 6-12 in 2023 and made a change at head coach, with Corey Mace taking the position last week.
