PSG Condemn "Intolerable" Actions By "Small Group" Of Fans Who Abused Lionel Messi And Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain issued a statement on Wednesday condemning the "intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals" after Lionel Messi and Neymar were both targeted by angry fans.

Ultras gathered outside club headquarters and chanted that Messi was "son of a b****" after news broke that the 35-year-old would not be extending his contract with PSG.

Messi was recently hit with a two-week suspension after skipping training to take a trip to Saudi Arabia as part of his $30m-a-year role as a tourism ambassador for the country.

But Messi was not the only PSG superstar to face the wrath of fans this week.

An angry mob gathered outside Neymar's home and demanded that the Brazilian "get lost".

Neymar is under contract with PSG until June 2025 but there is every chance of him leaving the club before then.

Responding to the abuse aimed at Messi and Neymar, a PSG statement read: "Paris Saint-Germain most strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals that took place on Wednesday.

"Whatever the differences of opinion, nothing justifies such actions.

"The Club gives its full support to its players, its staff and all those targeted by such shameful behavior."
