Timo Werner Scores His First Goal for Tottenham in Turnaround Win Over Crystal Palace

Timo Werner scored his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur in a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Werner found the net in the 77th minute to draw Spurs level after a fabulous Eberechi Eze free-kick had fired Palace in front.

This was Werner's first Premier League goal since April 2022 when he scored for Chelsea in a 4-2 defeat by Arsenal.

It sparked a late Tottenham turnaround which was completed by goals from Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min.

Werner should have scored in the first half after a brilliant pass from Son put him one-on-one with Palace keeper Sam Johnstone, who pinched the ball off the Germany international's right foot.

Son then rattled the post before Eze marked his first appearance since January with a brilliant set-piece strike from 22 yards.

Werner's equalizer came courtesy of a clean finish from eight yards following tenacious work by Brennan Johnson.

Substitute Johnson also provided the assist for Son's goal after James Maddison had set up Romero's with a looping cross.
