Manchester City Qualify For Two Extra Competitions After Winning Champions League

Manchester City completed a famous treble on Saturday night by adding the UEFA Champions League title to their Premier League and FA Cup triumphs.

A 1-0 win over Inter Milan capped off what is unquestionably the finest season in the club's 136-year history.

So now what? How do you follow that?

Naturally, City will want to win it all again next season.

But thanks to their victory in Saturday's final, Pep Guardiola's team will also have two new pieces of silverware to compete for in the 2023/24 campaign.

City will play in the UEFA Super Cup final for the first time on August 16 when they take on Europa League winners Sevilla. That one-off match will be held at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Greece.

Then in December, City will travel to Saudi Arabia to make their debut in the FIFA Club World Cup.

City are the fifth team to qualify for the 2023 Club World Cup, after Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds, Mexico's Leon, New Zealand's Auckland City and Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi champions Al-Ittihad tweeted a message of congratulations to City after Saturday's Champions League final.

It read: "Congratulations to Man City on winning the UEFA Champions League! See you soon at the World Cup".
