Neymar Needs Ankle Surgery And PSG Expect Him To Miss Rest Of Season

Paris Saint-Germain are expected to be without Neymar for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

The Brazil captain has not played for PSG since February 19 when he injured his right ankle in a 4-3 win over Lille.

After consulting various medical and injury experts since then, PSG announced on Monday that Neymar is to undergo surgery.

It added: "The Paris Saint-Germain medical staff recommended a ligament repair operation to avoid a major risk of recurrence.

"All the experts consulted have confirmed this necessity.

"The surgery will be performed in the next few days at the ASPETAR hospital in Doha.

"It will take 3 to 4 months before he can return to training with the team."
