Bayern Munich Boss Thomas Tuchel After Harry Kane's Debut: "I Just Feel Sorry For Him"
Thomas Tuchel has suggested that Harry Kane was let down by the rest of the team after the striker made his Bayern Munich debut in a 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig.
Kane had been hoping to lift the first trophy of his career by helping Bayern win the German Supercup final just hours after completing his Bundesliga record transfer from Tottenham.
But Bayern were 2-0 down before Kane entered the action as a 63rd-minute substitute and it was 3-0 before he had touched the ball.
Bayern manager Tuchel told reporters after the game: "I have no explanation right now.
"We're conceding the easiest goals. It's as if we haven't done anything for four weeks. What we've shown today has nothing to do with the way we've been training, the form, the atmosphere. It's alarming, just alarming."
Asked to comment on Kane's debut, Tuchel replied: "I just feel sorry for him.
"He probably thinks we haven't trained for four weeks. Our performance today had nothing to do with what we wanted to do. It's a very bitter evening, I'm sorry."
