Dayot Upamecano Sent Off for Ugly Foul As Bayern Munich Lose at Lazio

Bayern Munich failed to bounce back from last weekend's Bundesliga battering by Bayer Leverkusen as Thomas Tuchel's side lost again on Wednesday night.

A 69th-minute penalty kick converted by Ciro Immobile saw Bayern fall to a 1-0 defeat at Lazio in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash.

The spot-kick had been conceded by Dayot Upamecano for an ugly challenge which saw the studs on his left boot catch the right ankle of Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen.

Upamecano was shown a straight red card, meaning that he will be unavailable to play in the second leg in Germany on March 5.

Bayern failed to record a single shot on target in Rome, despite Harry Kane playing the full 90 minutes.

The German giants are now at risk of being eliminated from the Champions League before the quarter-final stage for only the second time in 13 seasons.
