Erling Haaland Equals Mo Salah's Record For Most Goals Scored In A 38-Game EPL Season

Erling Haaland has equaled the Premier League record for most goals scored during a 38-game season.

The Manchester City striker scored twice in the opening 25 minutes of Saturday's 3-1 home win over Leicester.

Haaland's first goal was a penalty kick. His second came courtesy of a cool dinked finish after being set up by Kevin De Bruyne.

The 22-year-old has now netted 32 times in just 28 EPL matches.

Mo Salah is the only other player to have scored 32 goals in a single Premier League season since the competition downsized from 22 teams to 20 in 1995.

Salah's 32 goals came in 36 appearances for Liverpool in the 2017/18 season.

The overall EPL record for most goals in a single season is currently shared by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

Cole set the record in 1993/94 by scoring 34 goals in 40 EPL games for Newcastle. Shearer equaled it a year later with 34 goals in 42 matches for Blackburn.

Haaland is on course to make light work of that record, despite playing in fewer games.
