Argos Sign Defensive Back, Re-Sign Lineman to Roster

The Toronto Argonauts have signed defensive back Jordan Jones and re-signed defensive lineman Tyler Williams to the roster.

As the Toronto Argonauts continue to construct their 2024 roster during the offseason, the team has announced the signing of defensive back Jordan Jones and the re-signing of defensive lineman Tyler Williams.

The team announced the Jones signing on X Monday afternoon.

Before going pro, Jones played his college ball at Rhode Island, where he appeared in 22 games and finished with 72 tackles, eight interceptions, 30 pass deflections and two touchdowns. He was named All-Conference First Team in 2022 and AP All-American Second Team in 2021.

Jones did not get drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft but signed with the Los Angeles Rams in training camp back in August. He was released a short time after that. This is his first experience in the CFL after his short stint in the NFL.

Williams, meanwhile, spent five seasons playing at Wake Forest, where he recorded 65 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and five sacks.

He originally signed with the Argos back in May but did not appear in a game for Toronto in 2023. The team has already signed three players and re-signed eight others so far in the offseason.
