Cristiano Ronaldo Claims Saudi Pro League Could Become Fourth Most Competitive League In The World

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been impressed by the standard of soccer on display in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward became the biggest star ever to play in Saudi soccer when he joined Al Nassr earlier this year.

Ronaldo has scored nine goals in his first eight league matches for his new team but it has not been as easy for Ronaldo to dominate as many had predicted.

Speaking to reporters while on international duty with Portugal, Ronaldo said: "I think you should look at the (Saudi Pro League) in a different way.

"I'm not going to say that the league is a Premier League, that would be a lie.

"But it's a very competitive league that I'm positively surprised by, a very balanced league and good teams.

"I am sure that in the coming years the league will be... the fourth, fifth or sixth most competitive league in the world."

Ronaldo is under contract with Al Nassr until the end of the 2024/25 season.
