Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sign Two Former NFL Defenders

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed two former NFL defensive players in linebacker Ray Wilborn and defensive back Michael Jacquet on Tuesday.

Defense was the focus for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as added a pair of players. Both former NFL players, Hamilton signed linebacker Ray Wilborn and defensive back Michael Jacquet on Tuesday.

Wilborn was in the NFL with the New York Giants last year after appearing in two games with the Denver Broncos in 2022. Other NFL stops include the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons from 2020 through 2022.

He started his college career at Garden City Community College in 2016, then finished his last two years at Ball State, where he racked up 166 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 12 pass deflections, four interceptions, three sacks and two forced fumbles in 24 games.

Former NFL linebacker Ray Wilborn will play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2024.

Jacquet saw playing time in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars, producing 18 tackles, three pass deflections and one sack in eight games. He also was on the New York Giants roster in 2022.

At the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Jacquet made 85 tackles, four interceptions and one sack in 46 games between 2016 and 2019. The program used him as a wide receiver as well, and he added 46 receptions for 494 yards and three scores.

Hamilton also signed tight end Thaddeus Moss earlier in the week.
