Harry Kane Reflects on "Really Tough Week" After Blunt Bayern Munich Lose Again

Harry Kane said Bayern Munich must "keep fighting" after losing for the second time in five days.

Bayern fell to a 1-0 defeat at Lazio on Wednesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash.

That followed a 3-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, which left Bayern five points behind first place in the Bundesliga.

Bayern failed to record a single shot on target in Rome, having worked the keeper just once against Leverkusen.

Kane played the full 90 minutes in both games but did not look like the player who had scored 25 goals in 22 games before the winter break.

Speaking to TNT Sports after Wednesday's game, Kane reflected: "Really tough week. In the first half we started well and had clear chances, including one for myself. In these games they're big moments.

"The second half was disappointing. We came out with less energy and less confidence. We got punished."

Ciro Immobile scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after Dayot Upamecano had been sent off for an ugly foul inside the 18-yard box.

"Once you go down to 10 men it's always difficult," Kane added.

Bayern now have three Bundesliga fixtures to navigate before hosting Lazio in the second leg on March 5.

Kane believes that Bayern can get back on track both domestically and in Europe, but only if he and his teammates are prepared to "fight".

"We have to find it among ourselves," he said. "We're still in the race for the Bundesliga and in this tie. We have to keep fighting.

"We're in a difficult spell. We have to fight. We have to turn it around. We have big games and big things to fight for.

"We're not out of it, we will never give up. We just need to turn it around. One game or one spark can turn it around."
