Chelsea's Sam Kerr And USWNT Star Kristie Mewis Share Engagement Photos

Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis took to Instagram this week to share some photos of the moment that they got engaged.

Chelsea and Australia striker Kerr successfully proposed to Gotham FC and USWNT midfielder Mewis on September 1.

However, the couple did not break the news of their engagement until November 9.

On Tuesday, they made public three photos from the day that they became each other's fiancee.

The first photo showed Kerr on bended knee offering a diamond ring to Mewis.

Another picture then featured a close-up of said ring while Kerr and Mewis were holding hands.

The final shot showed Kerr celebrating her successful proposal by holding up the ring box triumphantly while Mewis laughed adoringly by her side.

Kerr captioned the photos: "September 1st, 2023", followed by a white heart emoji.

The post received more than 200,000 likes in less than three hours.

Chelsea captain Millie Bright commented: "LOVE LOVE LOVE".

Meanwhile, Lauren James, Erin Cuthbert and Katie McCabe all responded to the post with heart emojis.

Cricket star David Warner, fresh from winning the World Cup with Australia at the weekend, also offered his congratulations.

Kerr, 30, and Mewis, 32, have been together romantically since 2021.
